Synthetic Cubism
1912-1919
Different textures and surfaces are collaged to merge subject matter. Pushing objects together with fewer planers than analytical. Also less shading than analytical creates flatter space. Synthetic creates fakes depth on the 2D surface. Non representational objects used in juxtaposition to create secondary meaning.

Without Synthetic Cubism design today would not convey the same messages. Synthetic influenced todays graphic design and sometimes included text.
